A reader just sent me a link to what I can only describe as the perfect example of pinatas inciting violence.
This particular pinata is of Osama bin Laden, and the website even extohls consumers to “kick his ass off.”
It really isn’t much of a leap to go from beating on this rather generic arab looking pinata to beating actual arabs. Even if Osama is a terrorist, pinatas that can incite actual hate crimes against law abiding arabs in our country legally should not be available for sale.
Would we tolerate this pinata if it were a black man? Or a jew? No.
Hi, the same site that has the Osma bin Laden pinata also has one of a black man Barak Obama. It also carries one of hilary and Bill, one of George BUsh, and a few others.
They do make those pull string pinata’s now. We used one last year for my son’s birthday and it worked great! Each child grabs a string and pulls and after a few tugs all the treats fall out! We could not find one this year,so we converted it ourselves and are hoping for great success.
Hi Julie, would you be willing to write up how you converted the traditional pinata into a pull string pinata? I think that would be very helpful for parents.

I actually really like this pinata,Ii think its a great idea. I bet our troops overseas would have a blast with it! After all, they are trained for violence, fighting for our freedom of speech, and your freedom to have a rediculous website like this up. This pinata would be a morale booster for our troops and remind them exactly why we are fighting in the first place.
Freedom isnt free… Its paid for with the blood of others.
